What is Effeta?

Effeta is a pastoral ministry for young adults based on a testimonial retreat. The retreat has several dynamics with the purpose of facilitating a personal encounter with Christ, allowing participants to live and cherish their faith. Effeta is for mixed-gender young adults (18-30 years old), where young adults lead, evangelize, and serve the Church.

Effeta was established in 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Parish of the Archdiocese of Bogota, Colombia. Effeta quickly became an extraordinary and effective way to attract young people, offering them a concrete way to live their faith and grow in their love of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Its fruits soon caught the attention of other parishes and it quickly spread throughout Colombia, and later to other countries, such as Spain, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Cuba, Ecuador, Argentina, the U.S., among others.
